Recycling for Healthcare Facilities

Hospitals, clinics, and medical office buildings generate constant volumes of corrugated cardboard from supply deliveries, shrink wrap, pallets, and confidential paper records, plus expired and overrun medications that have to be destroyed. CRI handles the recyclable side mill-direct and coordinates HIPAA-compliant records shredding and certified medication destruction, so the packaging and paper come back as savings while the regulated material is documented and gone.

Recyclables and Records, Handled Compliantly

Healthcare facilities take constant supply deliveries, and every delivery arrives in corrugate, shrink wrap, and on pallets. At the same time, the building generates confidential paper records that carry protected health information and cannot simply be thrown out. Both have to be handled cleanly and on a dependable schedule.

CRI manages the recyclable streams, OCC, film, pallets, and paper, and ships them mill-direct so they offset cost. For everything that has to be destroyed rather than recycled, confidential records plus expired, overrun, and recalled medications, we coordinate compliant destruction through licensed partners with chain of custody and a Certificate of Destruction on every load. We do not haul infectious, sharps, or red-bag medical waste; that stays with your licensed medical-waste hauler, while CRI covers the recyclables, records, and product destruction around it.

Healthcare Recycling FAQ

Can you destroy expired, overrun, or recalled medications?

Yes. Through CRI's licensed destruction partners we coordinate compliant destruction of expired, overrun, recalled, and damaged medications and pharmaceutical products, typically by incineration, and issue a Certificate of Destruction documenting the materials, method, and verified weights. It is the same documented destruction CRI provides for confidential records and recalled consumer product.

What about infectious or sharps medical waste?

That stays with your licensed medical-waste hauler. CRI does not transport red-bag, sharps, or infectious medical waste. We cover the recyclables, OCC, film, pallets, and paper, plus confidential records and product and medication destruction around it, so the rest of your program runs through one partner instead of a separate vendor for each stream.

Is your shredding HIPAA-compliant?

Yes. We provide certified document destruction with full chain of custody and a certificate of destruction on every job, sized for the volume of confidential records a healthcare facility generates.

Can you keep up with the cardboard from our supply deliveries?

Yes. Medical supply shipments generate steady, high-volume OCC and shrink wrap. We place balers and containers sized to that volume and schedule pickups so packaging never piles up in receiving or hallways.

Can you work around our facility's access and hours?

Yes. We build service windows around your operations, access control, and quiet-zone requirements, so recycling and records pickups happen discreetly and never interfere with patient-facing areas.
