What sizes of new pallets does CRI build?+
CRI builds standard 48×40 GMA pallets and any custom dimension you need. Whether you need oversized 60×80 pallets for industrial equipment, half-pallets for retail merchandising, or non-standard heights for racking clearance, we build to spec. Provide your dimensions, load weight, and stacking pattern and we'll engineer the right pallet.
Can CRI make heat-treated (HT) pallets for export?+
Yes. CRI builds ISPM-15 compliant heat-treated pallets stamped for international export. Heat-treating eliminates pests and meets the requirements of every major importing country. We also handle FDA-regulated environments where heat-treated wood is required.
What's the difference between hardwood and softwood pallets?+
Hardwood (oak, maple) is denser, stronger, and lasts longer, ideal for heavy loads, racking systems, and reusable programs. Softwood (pine, SPF) is lighter, less expensive, and well-suited for single-trip shipping or lighter loads. We help you pick based on load weight, expected lifecycle, and budget.
How quickly can CRI deliver new pallets?+
Standard 48×40 GMA pallets in stock can typically ship within days. Custom dimensions and large orders run on lead time depending on volume, usually 1-3 weeks. Contact us with your specs and quantity for an exact delivery estimate.
Does CRI also recycle used pallets?+
Yes. CRI is Chicagoland's premier pallet recycler, we buy used pallets, sell recycled grades, and build new pallets to spec. Many customers run a closed-loop program where we provide new pallets and pick up used or broken ones for recycling at the same time.
What plastic pallet options are available?+
Plastic pallets are available for food processing, pharma, export, automated handling, and any environment where wood pallets aren't suitable. We carry standard plastic GMA pallets and can source custom plastic dimensions for specialized applications.
